Wings and Wheels Fly-In and Cruise-In
April 27
This is a combination classic car and classic airplane show. There were more than 200 cars, with eight of them coming from our club. A highlight of the day was watching the Commemorative Air Force's World War II B-25 Mitchell bomber take off and land.
It was a nice event with good weather, live entertainment and good food available.
Valley of Flowers Car Show
May 4
An annual show in Florissant, this is a part of the Valley of Flowers Festival. The venue is historic Rue St. Francois. More than 150 cars parked along the street. Two cars from our club were there with Ken earning a "Top of His Class" trophy for his '75 Chevrolet Caprice convertible.
Model T Club Swap Meet
May 5
Members of our club volunteer to help out at this large swap meet by working the registration table and helping place vendors in their assigned spots. We start before sunrise and work until all vendors are in place. The Model T Club makes a generous donation to our charity, The National Children's Cancer Society, for our efforts.
Overland Parade
May 18
The Overland Community Parade is an annual event with classic cars leading the way. There are also floats, marching band, ROTC unit, First Responder vehicles, local political candidates and much more. There were about 30 classic cars from several clubs. Our club had the most.
Maifest Car Display
May 19
The Maifest event is held annually in the New Town subdivision of St. Charles. The festival celebrates our local German heritage. Often there will be visitors from Germany present. We were invited to display some of our cars on the festival grounds. We had six cars ranging from a 1949 Pontiac to a 1995 Cadillac. In between were a 1957 Chevrolet, 1966 Corvair, 1975 Chevrolet Caprice and a 1991 Chrysler TC.
