RECENT EVENTS
January 13, 2024--An Evening with the Cardinals: This is an annual fund-raising dinner for The National Children's Cancer Society. Held in the Grand Ballroom at Union Station there about 500 attendees; 20 of which were members of our club and the GTO Club. It included having our pictures taken with Cardinal guests David Eckstein and David Freese. A fine dinner was followed by a Q & A with the two Cardinals with Channel 5 sportscaster Frank Cusomato as the MC. An auction raised funds for the NCCS.
Our Wheels in Motion donation once again qualified as a "Home Run Sponsor"
March 16--St. Patrick's Day Parade: Three cars from our club were in the parade in downtown St. Louis. Ken's '75 Caprice, Mike's '82 DeLorean and Al & Sharon's '68 Ford XL. A beautiful day and a very large crowd out to watch the parade.
March 31--Easter Show
The Concours d'Elegance, commonly known as the Easter Show, was a great success this year. Despite weather forecasts calling for rain most of the day, it was dry with plenty of sunshine. Members from our club with cars on display were Bill & Karla's '91 Chrysler's TC by Mazerati (1st place in their class), Mike E's '59 Thunderbird, Ken's '75 Caprice (3rd place in his class), Al & Sharon's '68 Ford XL, Joe K's '56 Packard, Dan & Renee's '95 Corvette and Elliott & Dolores' '50 Packard.
Some members of our club also belong to the show host Horseless Carriage Club and helped with planning, setup, administration and post-show cleanup. The HCC makes a donation to our charity, The National Children's Cancer Society for our efforts.
